After a day filled with occassional showers on Tuesday, Wednesday looks to hold much of the same. Expect scattered showers to hang around the tri-state through the day, before a brief lull moves in on Wednesday night. I am keeping my eyes on the threat for some strong to severe thunderstorms on Friday. The setup will be there…it’s just a matter of having the right pieces falling into place at the right time. As of now, that looks to occur. A strong cold front will be plowing towards the tri-state through the day on Friday. Out ahead of it, moisture levels (humidity and dewpoints) will be on the increase, which will prime the atmosphere for the development of strong to severe thunderstorms. I will have much more on this by Wednesday, when the forecast models will have a little better of a handle on the timing/location of the various “puzzle pieces.”
