Brief Shot of Heat

After months of limited heat (deep solar minimum, increased soil moisture, etc), we will finally receive a taste of summer. A broad area of high pressure centered to our southeast will really help to usher in very warm, muggy air. Expect afternoon highs to top out around 90 degrees with high humidity (dewpoint values at or above 70 degrees, which is very uncomfortable). The two combined together will create heat index values approaching 100 degrees. Drink plenty of fluids and stay cool!
